I guess you live in a lone fucked up section of town. As I said, I have never known of not having water when there's no power, since the water delivery is based on pressure, not power.

If someone has a well, with an electric pump, they will indeed lose water during a power outage.

Probably not worth the trouble to respond. Zero's response was more of an attack against me and he likely really knows better.
A well known member of my pear tree growing group has some sort of expensive handpump set up for his deep well. Not sure how it works. Travis Callahan recently died and lived Abbreville, LA. After a bad hurricane, he moved inland a bit and put in a well. He apparently did lose his water during that storm that made him move. My guess is in his coastal area that the water plant got destroyed.

I got an itch in my throat after being at Disney the last 4 days with lots of international people. Should I be worried

Disney is one of the last places I'd go right now. I have friends planning to go down to central Florida for Spring Training and a visit to Disney, I think I'll stay away from them for a bit after they return. Two cases have been reported in the Tampa area as of yesterday!

Hand Sanitizer: Don't buy worthless brands! Read the ingredients AND Percentages. If its not a minimum of 70% Alcohol it will be ineffective per CDC guidance. This has been the standard for a long time.

I like this quote I just read:

“Local health officials told us not to panic buy and not to freak out...and that was enough to get us to go and buy everything.” Shopper Ryan Ozawa, 45, told the paper.

This was at a Costco store.

Quick way to boost the economy. Lol

I thought i heard the stock market was back up lol.
I just did my part to help it out.
I spent about 250 bucks this morning on supplies. A lot of bacon, canned fish and other cans, seasoned rice in sealed plastic jars, dried beans, dog and cat food, and other things. My most interesting buy was boiled peanuts. Also a bottle of vitamins because there is not a hole of veggies that I am storing. Only what I can freeze.
Wednesday I will get some gasoline for my saws and diesel for my tractor. Also heartguard for the mutts. No more public events.

You guys are kinda taking it to the extreme aren't you.
We don't have a hurricane coming into the Gulf do we ?? Maybe move into a bomb shelter and drink canned water ?? --- SAWMAN

But Skynet! And magnetic pole shifting, super volcanos in yellowstone.

If nothing happens I guess I wasted some money and time. World is full of choices.
I believe within limits in some prepping and I have not done it. This is a reminder or wake up call for me. I did about a month's food which was the recommended number that i heard.

Your right 4 weeks would be good. Better than the national average of 3 days. But more is better. Best part is it's all stuff you normally eat, no exotic stuff like my freeze dried foodstash.
Just for a test I actually ate one of my stockpiled mre's 14 year -old mre. Bleh. Had that wonderful foil taste, and probably had no vitamins left in it but it fed me. No upset stomach, or any ill effects.

I picked up some dried beans, canned goods, TP, pretty much stuff I needed to stack back up anyways. Then headed to FL and bought 3 cases of Jack Daniels
