This is why, backwards alabama has titles on all trailers.

here if you don't have a title...the Sheriff has to get the serial # of the trailer themself... and run it...confirm the # to the tag office...before you can apply for a title...to get a tag for it

Alabama doesn’t require a title for a utility trailer anymore, don’t know when that changed but I do have to get a tag.
