What?!? What's the point of bail then?

I wish I could do that with taxes...
    Bail Bonds fronts the rest.

Perp or friends put up 10%, they get the rest.

Sometimes there are high profile cases where it has to be 100% in cash from the perp (or at least I have heard of that).

I worked for a bail bondsman out of Knoxville that wrote million dollar bonds. It's a gamble by the bondsman even with collateral. If they run you have to catch them and bring them back. Their friends always tell you where they're at. Never had one run for 48 hrs that we couldn't get back. Florida is different. You have to be a licensed bondsman to go after them here.

It's not like the TV shows, never once did we have to fight anyone, draw a firearm or anything like that. Most of the time they would just cry on the ride back. It's a sign of weakness from the get go when a man runs and tries to hide from his actions that put him in that situation to begin with.

Momma always said "If you're gonna be bad... you gotta be bad all the way..."
