The bottom line is that once a person knows their skintone doesn't define who they are, that person is free to pursue their goals.

This great Nation is overflowing with opportunities.

Every person has obstacles to overcome.

I'd wager that for any given society "problem" (poverty, housing, education, etc), if you crossed "racism" off the list as a Cause, you would find a more culpable reason for that problem, and you'd be soooo much closer to a solution.

Traditional family units and values is a good start. Reducing the amount of broken homes.
Caring fathers and mothers raising the kids.
Respect for others taught at home.
Respect for teachers, law enforcement, the elderly, neighbors, etc.
Emphasis on the importance of a good education and a good work ethic.
Humility and gratitude for the opportunities available in this Country versus the challenges around the world.

If people would stop blaming others for perceived disadvantages... if people would nip racist comments and actions in the bud... if people would stop acting like inconsiderate and disrespectful fools... the self-replicating loop of misperceptions would break.

So, since it takes both sides to wipe this crap out, you can only control you. However, there are more good folks than bad ones, so one day, this, too, shall pass.

The real challenge is preventing the mob-crazy libtards from throwing the Constitution "baby" out with the "bath water" in the meantime.
Yes, if people could only remove the if's like racism, then we could get to the core of what are causing the problems poor education results, violence, drug trade, out of wedlock children, unemployment, etc. While 'if' is only a two letter word, it is a huge concept.
    I am not hopeful.
History indicates racial, religious, and other killing differences are not resolved in a peaceful manner.

Also for perspective we have to try to realize that racism is and always has been a huge factor throughout world history and currently all over the world. Our brand mostly came from Europe, the Asian nations have their own brand, the Balkans theirs, etc... The difference in America, I feel, is that since our founding we have struggled to try to address it and we have the freedoms to work to fix our issues, albeit sometimes uncomfortably. We’ve come a long way and have a long way to go, but none of us should fool ourselves that there’s a better place in the world to make it work.

Prior to the Hitler, Germany was one of the best places for jews to live relative to discrimination. But just one crazy nationalist movement lead by an evil man was enough to result in the worst atrocities of the 20th century.
My point no matter how good the laws are, if the hatred and more importantly fear exists, we always have to be on guard to prevent something really bad from happening.

Sorry guys... but I’m going to get in my feelings for a minute... speaking from the heart so to speak...you i look at the news and I look at social media...and I really breaks my heart to see the amount of hate rooted in this world that we’ve living in ... it makes me sad that ...these conversations that we were just having on this thread that we have to have them...it hurts me to know that that no matter how pure I’m intentions maybe I will be judge based on my outward appearance. It saddens me that I too will pass judgment on someone else based on there outward appearance...I speak on these matters because I have been with my for damn near 20 years and she is white...We have three boys 16/14/2 and we have experienced racism from both sides of the table both black and white... so trust me when I say I look at the world thru a totally different set of lenses than most you..I have to teach my boys that even tho they are bi-racial they are black to the outside world and I know it’s not fair but that’s just the way it is ... and i shouldn’t have too.. my wife’s family has all but cut her off ... because she married to me! Her own father told her to get an abortion with our first son..I have gotten in a physical fight with my own family members because they disrespected my white wife ... I have been called a Nigger to my face more times then I can count...I have had ppl tell me to be good to my wife because I made her life a lot harder that it should be because she married me... she’s been called a nigger lover more times then I’d like to admit.. and honestly I am ashamed... that we decided to bring another child into this fucked up world.. and that’s just scratching the surface of some of the shit we’ve been thru ... and WHY I LOOK AT THIS COUNTRY THE WAY I DO .. this is the AMERICA I live in!!

I’m on the opposite end your situation and our experience’s differ. I am white with a black wife for 22 years now. The only racism I have experienced was from group of black guys in the mall. They could not contain their jealousy that I had a beautiful woman and they did not. I never taught my biracial children that they should worry because they are mixed, or that whites are going to create a disadvantage for them.
They have never experienced racism to my knowledge.

Old enough. I've seen almost every corner of this surprisingly small world. I've experienced some of the worst and some of the best it has to offer, and I've survived to come home to "retire".

I have no delusions of everyone holding hands and sharing a meal. I know there are cities-worth of self-centered lazy dirtbags just looking for the next situation to take advantage of someone. I know there are evil people who don't worry one bit about the pain they inflict on others. I know there are disrespectful sacks of feces that are privileged enough to be US Citizens but haven't done a damn thing in their worthless lives toward Earning that gift.

I've seen enough of those wastes of oxygen. Takes too much energy to hate them all.

I spend my time and energy on me and my family. I do not allow the ignorance and venom of others to negatively affect me or my family. Nope; there is a line.

I admit, the media today is full of pompous talking heads that spew nothing but negativity. It's depressing to watch. It's mostly a waste of time, too.

Just raise your kids right. Teach them to be good people. Teach them to be smart people. Teach them how to protect themselves and those they care about. Teach them the every important tactic of "trust but verify". Teach them that when something goes wrong, it's a waste of energy to pursue blaming others first. Just deal with the issue, move forward, and learn from it. The rest of the world will either get better or burn. Concentrate on what You can affect.

I tend not to be as harsh as you, but you know I can not offer an effective argument against the harshness. Perhaps I am a dreamer and I have certainly seen some unpleasant things.
What you are saying as I understand and agree with is the Priorities are God, Family, and then Tribe. Of course do no wrong to others, but take care of your family first. Relative to trust and verify, I do not trust any of them, repub or democ.
What you can trust is that anyone that wants your guns is not to be trusted.

Look at the facts and be the judge.
How about national socialist. Germany did get the short end of the stick at the end of WWI. Deciding to get back lost territory is one thing, but deciding to conquer the rest world by the most violent means was not right. 6 million died in Poland, 1 out of 9 in Yugoslavia, etc. Nothing very right about that. There is more to it which is not taught in schools. Lots of dirt that has been swept into the corners. The western powers wanted to use Hitler as bulwark against the communist USSR. Then Hitler makes a deal with the Russians and so Hitler instead attacks the non-communist countries, then a pause and he attacked the Russians. Russians and west are forced to become allies and we all know the rest.

Nationalism is an ideology and movement that promotes the interests of a particular nation especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation's sovereignty over its homeland. Nationalism holds that each nation should govern itself, free from outside interference, that a nation is a natural and ideal basis for a polity, and that the nation is the only rightful source of political power. It further aims to build and maintain a single national identity—based on shared social characteristics of culture, ethnicity, geographic location, language, politics, religion, traditions and belief in a shared singular history —and to promote national unity or solidarity. Nationalism, therefore, seeks to preserve and foster a nation's traditional cultures, and cultural revivals have been associated with nationalist movements. It also encourages pride in national achievements, and is closely linked to patriotism.

it is when it is linked with other movements , ie; communism, socialism etc , then it can become a problem.

The majority do get blamed for what fringe elements do. People need to be watchful of those they are associated with.

Below is something that I feared happening relative to violence. Need more details to understand. Protest was over the statue of a Spanish conquistador. Pensacola is full of such statues. Since Hurricane Ivan we have gained a significant Mexican population and we have always had native americans around. What is next?
(CNN)Vigilantes might have started the violence that led to a shooting in New Mexico during a demonstration on Monday authorities said, and the governor is vowing to hold the "instigators" fully accountable.
One man was hospitalized and another man charged with aggravated battery, Albuquerque police said.
The shooting happened during a protest in the city's Old Town calling for the removal of a sculpture of a Spanish conquistador, officials said.
"I am horrified and disgusted beyond words," Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said in a statement on Twitter condemning the "heavily armed individuals who flaunted themselves at the protest, calling themselves a 'civil guard.' "

just heard on the news that the shooter wasn’t a member of the, ahem, militia. Also said militia surrounded the shooter until police arrived.
But who knows, it was NPR which is a progressive echo chamber, am I right?

Let's see. A group of New Mexico Citizens arm up, as is their Constitutional and legal right, in full coordination with the local police, and attend the protest to attempt to protect some statues from illegal vandalism. Despite their presence, the "largely peaceful protestors" for BLM wrapped a chain around the statue and were in the process of tearing it down. So: the militia did NOT physically do anything at that point. They stayed on the correct side of the law because since the idiot protestors weren't stupid enough to attack one of them, the militia had to watch as the vandalism proceeded... without any LEO intervention, either.

Meanwhile, one guy some distance away, unconnected to the militia, exchanged words with some of the "largely peaceful protestors". They attack him physically with a skateboard, gang up on him while he's trying to retreat to his vehicle, and TACKLE him. Now outnumbered and being attacked by multiple assailants, he draws his pistol and fires four shots.

Conflict ended, the New Mexico Militia leave the statue-pulling-disgustingness and go towards the gunfire, disarm the guy, standing on his pistol, and then forms a ring around him to protect him from the angry mob until the police arrive.

So.... they absolutely saved lives and defused a problem until law enforcement could take over.

Yet, the libtard media portrays it like an armed militia is silencing protestors and threatening people. The mayor and governor react like the thug "protestors" are the victims, and the statue will be removed by the city "as a matter of public safety".

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

the media is totally in the tank for the libs...

read an article about the seattle situation, described the proud boys as far right extremists, but no mention of the far left radical BLM & Antifa....merely referred to as protestors.....like street fair, where free food and movies are put on....and everyone loves each other.....

i think we will see major unrest in the next 2 months, and violence.....
