Can a Florida resident purchase a pistol from a private seller in Alabama legally without going through an FFL? The Florida resident has his CCW if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance. Paul

A long gun can be purchased thru an FFL but a handgun has to be sent to an FFL in the buyer’s state thru the mail.

don't think you are supposed to send a handgun in the mail it has to be a contract carrier

when I read it...it said you had to send either through an FFL...but you can't use the mail (USPS) for a handgun
