Can a Florida resident purchase a pistol from a private seller in Alabama legally without going through an FFL? The Florida resident has his CCW if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance. Paul
A long gun can be purchased thru an FFL but a handgun has to be sent to an FFL in the buyer’s state thru the mail.no sir...if a gun crosses state lines it needs to go through an FFL

don't think you are supposed to send a handgun in the mail it has to be a contract carrierA long gun can be purchased thru an FFL but a handgun has to be sent to an FFL in the buyer’s state thru the mail.
Have to be super specific nowadays. People do the darnedest things.I wasn’t talking about a non-FFL.
If I ship a gun, I’m using an FFL.
when I read it...it said you had to send either through an FFL...but you can't use the mail (USPS) for a handgunHave to be super specific nowadays. People do the darnedest things.

BUT, like the "For Sale rules" they wouldn't read it either.Just to lazyWhen anyone ask this question, you can be sure they didn’t do any research whatsoever. I’ll bet I’ve seen it asked a hundred or more times on this forum alone. Perhaps it should be made a sticky, that comes up every time you sign in on the forum.
