    What about a storage unit?
Don't ever put any guns or prepper supplies in a public storage unit. Reason being is because in the event of national emergency all the storage facilities all across the country get legally raided by everybody from the Army to the Feds to the Sheriff's for supplies. Legally.

Air conditioned and secure but for sure chain it to something big and bury the chain so nobody with a rollback truck can take it. That happened to a friend of mines client. Theives backed a rollback truck thru a window in broad daylight, winched the floor safe onto the truck and drove off.

I think for short term storage that's not going to be a problem. I say get an air conditioned storage unit inside the building with no outside access. This way you can get to them any time you want.

Short term is still a risk... nobody knows the future... and that includes WW3, Yellowstone exploding and the Biden/Clinton/Obama cartel siezing control... oh wait...

Problem with this is many storage facilities allow LEO access to the facility for training of K9. I've used several facilities over the years and it was either posted outside of units in hallways or in the rental agreement. YMMV, but its kinda risky at the very least. Also willfull violation of a rental agreement could get you hemmed up and cause forfeiture of the items stored.

A friend of mine recently was building a new house and was "in transit" for 17 months waiting for it to be built. What he did was purchase several Jobboxes and stored his guns locked up in those in a self storage facility along with furniture etc. Just a thought...

Yep. Standard for Alabama. $25 a hundred.
I understand pawn shops are not governed under the same set of state laws that banks are. They're like these title loan and payday loan places. They can charge anything they want as long as it's fully disclosed to you when you sign for the money. That's why They're everywhere. At least in MS and TN.

    Looking into that, plus housegoods.
Having owned several containers for different purposes over the years they all have one thing in common. Most will exceed 120 degrees inside in summer. Even with vents on top they are like a pressure cooker. They also sweat when weather is just warm and humid. Which you have a lot of down here. These are a couple of reasons why they are such cheap storage. They might be ok for short periods. But long term you could ruin a lot of your goodies.

If I was to use a conex to store some pew pews, I'd seek out and find a few old large deep freezers. They don't have to work either btw. Most have locks on them also. Then use them to store them inside. As long as thier gaskets are good they should do pretty well. Then I'd stack a bunch of crap on them. Then I'd put one small freezer right in front with nothing on top. I'd Then pile it full of food to get spoiled lol. That way if a burglar breaks in he'd of course check the easiest and fastest one to get into. He'd get a wiff of that and assume the rest are the same and not want to do all the effort to uncover them to find out otherwise! Yep that's how I'd do it lol

There's also this outfit. These were delivered for storing our house stuff in during repairs. Could give them a call and see how the tempature controlled ones work. I know the one we are using are insulated, but aren't set up for cooling right now, yet they stay pretty cool.

Pictures of the ones in our yard.

You know when pawning a gun you are selling it to them they can sell it off at anytime and if you want them back it is the same as a 1st time buy 4470 and background check

A buddy of mine, did that. Pawned his guns, paid the loan off, went to get them, filled out the ATF Form 4473 and came back denied. He had a common name, which caused the confusion. Why some people refuse to use their SSN on the form is beyond me, prevents shit like this from happening.

Whether legal or not, the pawn shop told him they had the right to sell the guns, if he couldn't pass the background check. He finally got everything cleared up, but that's a scary fact of what can happen.
