Did a take out yesterday from Shannon's Seafood Kitchen on Pine Forrest road. Had an error on wife's combo so had to return. Owner insisted on replacing with fresh cooked correct order and included free "nanner" pudding deserts. The pics, including error order, are:

Wife was working in her garden all afternoon, and I was starting to think about dinner. My brother callled, and he was starting a gumbo. Great idea!

Just for you Larry. New cooker containers first use. Decided to sous vide some boneless pork chops, 3 different ways, some asparagus, a swordfish filet for the wife, and instant mashed taters with broccoli and cheddar.

Wow Ray-I'd about die for that feast! I had a feast myself tonight, a Marie Callenders chicken and noodle bowl. I'm going to try that sous vide method of cooking first chance I get. Been reading up on it a little and got the hots to try it.

It is the best cooking method for meats, but proper finishing produces the best result for sure. For veggies I am not sure I care for it. The asparagus would have been better on the grill or oven roasted I think, even though I finished it in a skillet with some clarified butter and seasoned with salt and pepper..

Just to switch it up Larry since dinner was left overs I documented a thrifty breakfast sammich I made this morning. Stale wheat bread I needed to use, and the star was Hickory Smoked Spam. Bread, spam, sharp cheddar off the block, and one egg. Simple, but SO good!

Ray, you're the only person whose posts make me gain weight! Was the Spam already smoked or did you add flavoring to it? I've seen several versions of Spam and even a turkey Spam (damn good). Spam is either something you love.....or hate.
I'll eat the Hell out of it and will try your sandwich when I get home.

The Spam flavor is Hickory Smoked. It is good, but not that smokey to my taste. I have a can of Bacon flavor too, but cannot really tell it is flavored differently. It is all good. They had a chorizo flavor at one point, but I have never found it!

I have to restrain myself on spam, bologna, and Vienna Sausages. All so good, you know they cannot be good for you in quantity. LOL

I'll be looking for the hickory next time I hit the store.

I know what you mean, I always carry spam and Viennas in my truck in case I can't get off for lunch.

    That is a hunting breakfast!

Wife had the craving for her favorite breakfast item, bacon. She cooked it while I focused on the eggs and grits. Great teamwork pays tasty dividends!

Made a breakfast sammich with a little twist. Cooked the bread in scrambled eggs like french toast. Turned out pretty good but will need the bread toasted next time.
