Another cool rainy day treat. Smashed baked potato loaded with cheese, sour cream, and home made chili. Both tater and chili were left overs to finish off. Darn good together!

Dinner leftovers becomes a great rainy day breakfast for the wife and I. Two pork tamales imported from Texas, saffron rice, black beans, medium spicy salsa, shredded four cheese blend Mexican cheese, and an over easy egg. Mighty tasty!

Finally got the wife to agree to eat out. Ichiban on N. Davis by Sky's pizza was my choice. Had to satisfy my wasabi craze and the spicy Shrimp and Asparagus rolls did that as always! Tried a menu item for the first time, Yaki Udon. I have had the Yaki Sobi twice and liked it, the Yaki Udon was just as good!

Yesterday's breakfast put me in the mood for similar, and I had one biscuit and some sausage gravy left over from the weekend to use! One biscuit, one sausage, sausage gravy, with two easy over on top. Not restaurant quality, but good eating for sure.

Wife made some great tacos (lengua) and she made to cornflower tortillas and the guacamole. Lettuce from our garden. Delicious. Even the kids ate them lol DDCE3A57-6333-4101-A4CA-3A0AC0517609.jpg

Man those look good. Hard to find some good beef tongue tacos.

My brother found a place here that we are going to try on his next visit to them, but he wants me to wait for him! We will see. LOL

Nice, thought this thread was falling off. Dinner last night, a quick steak cooked in onions and mushrooms. Mushrooms were sauteed for breakfast and the leftover onions and mushrooms starred in this mornings breakfast scramble.

Lunch today, Tomato Bisque soup and a veggie free grilled club!

LOL, I know; right. Luckily I still have a decent metabolism and only eat two meals a day most days. Largest meal in the morning and a medium to light dinner most days. Wife makes a lot of chicken and stir frys that help too, along with judicious consumption of kim-chee to keep the system clear!

I thought this was a joke until I looked up lengua. I've eaten a lot of different stuff in my life but I've got to draw the line at beef tongue.

Dude, say it is not so! Lengua is a forgotten American food. Waste not, starve not! The last cheap poor man's cut of beef. Sad to say it will soon be priced higher than skirt steak or flank!

Ray, I'm really very sorry, but I have to say it is so! There is a reason it is a forgotten American food..............it is a tongue from a COW!!!!!!! Now I'm not trying to be holier than anybody here. Hell, I eat potted meat and that crap is full of pig peckers. It is just the thought of unpackaging some poor cows tongue and cooking and eating it that turns me off. Times may get tough enough one day that I'll have to eat one but I'm not broke yet.
