Watch out for railed gas tubes. I thought I wanted one but after checking it turns out they get too hot for most optics/accessories you would put on a rail.

Any 30mm tube will fit but it's single ring. Aimpoint PRO, COMP series (m4 and lesser numbers) and their clones.

Sounds reasonable though. Especially if mag dumping.

I've lit a couple of my AK's handguards on fire... neither had optics at all, but I can imagine it wouldn't have been good

I've run a couple dozen mags thru my A2 just as fast as I could, needed gloves to handle the receivers, and still didn't smoke the handguards. Praise God for well ventilated handguards with metal heat shields. Why people ever got away from that and got rid of their heat shields is beyond me

The ultimak is a lot larger than a railed AR gas block for better cooling. And the design of the ak is different.

I haven't noticed any heat, probably cause I use the rifle length magpul Handguard.

But no problems with the primary arms dot I use.

But next time I shoot her, I'll check the optic heat.

I installed it years ago.
