I am looking for a .410 or 20 guage, preferably single shot, to use to teach my daughter the ins and outs of shotguns on. It doesn't need to be new or in perfect condition. Let me know what you've got in PM. Thanks

I've seen several at pawn shops in the area. They were overpriced but you could make an offer.

Walmart sells a single shot called a Hatfield. I've seen them in 20 ga. and I do believe they have them in 410.
    The sell for $100.

I saw the Hatfield 20 guage there the other day and looked up reviews online. I'm not sure if I want to try one or not

When did single shot shotguns double in price ?
I bought my son an NEF .410 single shot at WalMart in about 1998 and it was $72.
Now I see people wanting $200 for used ones.

I stopped in Cash America pawn on Navy going towards NAS.
They have an H&R .410 with a $199 price tag on it. Not worth that but you could make them an offer.
I would rather have an H&R than one of these off-brands.

Ya. I am a big fan of single shot H&R's and NEF's. I still have a couple in 12 and 16 guage. I just wish I held onto all my guns before I joined the Army and moved away, but I sold off a lot of my guns. Terrible decision.

I had never before heard of such a thing. I like the concept. Does it scratch at all? How about accuracy wise going from a 12 to 20?

I haven't noticed any scratching and the accuracy, as far as I'm concerned, isn't bad. If anything, the spread of the pattern is probably a little wider then a dedicated 20 gauge barrel. I haven't shot a 20 gauge along side it so I couldn't say for certain. However, and in your case, it should be a decent training option.

Thank you. I appreciate your input. I have been doing some research online and I think I'll give it a try.
