Disassembled, cleaned, lubed and reassembled my Marlin Model 42 pump shotgun. Have needed to do this for a while now, but the thread “3 day rifle cleaning” made me get off my arse and do it. It’s a pita. Don’t know if the designer should rightfully be called a mad scientist or evil genius. It was designed to compete with the model 97.

Loaded up ammo for my son to shoot next week. it sucks not being able to shoot anymore. However my son is about to turn 18 in may. Hes autistic but I trust him with a gun more than most of the soldiers I work with. He shoots my RPR in 6 BR. He loves hitting the steel at 1080yds. The look on his face is priceless. These pics were from awhile ago. I think last August.

"The Accountant" movie comes to mind. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it. My wife was an autistic preschool teacher. After watching that movie over again, and after getting some experience at the school, she swore that she thought I'm highly functioning on the spectrum and just never got diagnosed. It makes sense how the highly structured, highly disciplined military life and the shooting sports would attract this type of man and mask some of the behaviors. Maybe your son can still serve his country in uniform as a volunteer in an auxiliary, like the USAF's Civil Air Patrol or the Coast Guard's auxiliary. He wouldn't get paid probably, but he'd be a uniformed part of the team, and he'd probably treasure the experience more than most.

Hes been in ROTC his whole HS tenure. I've watched that movie and love it. Great movie. My wife is also a special needs teacher, she got her start with autistic kindergartners.

Cast 224 bullets for the 12.7 mm Swedish rolling block yesterday. Cast 153 more today. Traded for 200 more pounds of lead for bullet casting, sorted and stacked it.
