Got my "art". 12ga sb2 case color 3 inch. 18 inch. Mod. Should be good for my chamber inserts. The weight on the rear makes it point well. Even has quick detach sling, tri rail with light. Something fun. Will put rear stock on. Solid built.

Got my Shockwave set up the way I want with flashlight, side-saddle ammo carrier, and Centermass laser.

Been playing around with Cerakoting with their air-dry stuff. Been doing small AR pieces but I finally got around to doing my Ruger p-85 slide, turned out pretty good. I got to wait for a whole week before I can put it back together. Went with a burnt bronze for the slide and some of the smaller pieces. I will have a black frame with a burnt bronze slide, should give it a nice facelift for a 20 plus-year-old handgun. Don't care what anyone says, the Ruger P85 is a workhorse. When I run out of bullets, I can bludgeon the bad guy with it.

Test fired the two new Glock with 100 rounds each in quick succession. G34 ran flawlessly as expected.

Unfortunately, the new G44 .22 had several fail to ejects, and didn’t lock back on the mags several times. The malfunctions cleared easily with a rack of the slide. The recoil spring is very light, and the lockup is very loose. Not sure if by design or not. Was shooting cheap Federal Champion. Will try some other ammo and give it time to “break in” before making judgement. But for the record, the M&P .22 I shot before was more reliable, but I don’t remember the ammo used.

Hate to hear that, nothing worse than a new toy that dosent work! Hopefully with more shooting it will get better. Did kimber design it? J/k.

I've been waiting for the keltec 22. P17, 33 shot mag. Someday, supposed to be less than $200.

Package from Switzerland arrived today. Carefully opening it, the first item out was Jürg's officer belt and buckle (his family asked it be given to me). My wife and I think it's beautiful! Opening more of the package, expecting to find the Swiss military patches won at an auction, I found Jürg had sent his Einteilungsnummer. This was totally a surprise. At the bottom were the various patches he'd won at an auction for me. I immediately thanked him for his generosity and the trust we've established between two (at first) strangers, thousands of miles apart. Photos: Officer belt and buckle, Einteilungsnummer (shoulder boards showing rank and unit information) (1st Lt, 7th Company, 43rd Infantry Battalion), officer specialty collar patches same as he wore (maintenance), assortment of patches he won at a Swiss auction for me.

For those not familiar with my obtaining the Swiss P49 pistol that was issued to Jürg Keller, a Swiss Army Officer, in 1966: He and I've been corresponding back and forth for months now ever since I found his daughter-in-law in Switzerland and she gave my message to Jürg, who happens to live next door to her, exchanging photos and information about his Army service and both our families.

What a great story and friendship..ya'll going over to meet them?

The question shouldn't be "if", but "when".

That's a great on-going story, Daezee. If ever there was a reason to make an international trip, this kind of thing would be at the top of my list. No one's getting any younger.

Thanks for sharing these updates with us. If it crosses your mind, let Mr. Keller know that many of us appreciate his trust and generosity, too.

My frustration continues. Havent had time to scout perdido. My alarm goes off that my quota permit starts tomorrow. Run home late to sight in my new to me savage 24 22 over 20. Oh boy its not a shooter. Im gonna need to spend some time to get to know this one. So im headed off in the morning to do some stalking with my topper 357. Wish me luck boys!

I shot.... with the howa mid morning @ 200 yes or so.
    20200125_095346.jpg

My friend got a 155lb 6 point with the howa in the afternoon.

Rifle was really nice, but He would not tell me the cost 6.5. Looked it up just now. Nice to know a $1500 rifle comes with a wiggly stock for free. Was shocked, I mean like ATI parts wiggle. Had a LuthAR stock on it, all factory. It would make hunting great again!
