this didnt turn into some sentimental wish-wash b.s. of only wanting happy honeys and bouncing babies?

    lol

Honestly, I'm not too sure of "which" 1911 I would want but I'd be looking at something like Mr. Katanga has for sale. I'd like an officers size or smaller carry-able piece. It'd have to have a bobbed ass, beautiful grips, couple polished goodies, etc. I've been more than happy with my "cheap" Kimber StainlessII. I know its not a custom gun, but its super nice to me and was a gift from the wife.

Either ^ that, or some kind of a beater 1911. Rock Island or something like that (no offense, I mean in comparison to a Wilson or Les Baer). Throw on some grips, the regular spiffin' up a 1911 doo-dads, and try to blow the sucker up with round count.

RIA 1911 FS1, to carry at the lease and use as a truck gun, maybe the Hipoint 45, about the same thing but cheaper..that way I don't care if it is stolen

    Coonan .357 magnum 1911.
Just cause it is a .357 mag.

In all actuality, the COONAN .357 is not a true 1911. Although it does resemble one, it is quite different internally. They are great guns. I love mine. It is a COONAN B that was made back in the mid-'80s. It is a fantastic shooting pistol.

Wilson Classic Super grade. . But for that one being over 5 grand I would rather have a DPMS .308/7.62X51 LRT-SASS with a Night force scope and a geissele 2 stage trigger. So I would just sell the 1911 :)

I would opt for all quality Wilson parts to build it myself.

Let me know when to send you my parts list so you can have it under my tree in time

Don't need a super grade. The regular CQB works just fine. The only reason I would opt for the elite is that it already has a few features that I would end up adding anyway.

I like all reliable 1911s, but my favorite is a worn in blued model. I have my dad's old Colt Commander sized light weight 1911 back from the late 70s or so. The blue is tastefully worn in from many hours of carry in south Texas, just like a pair of old Levi's. And my favorite? Les Baer baby...just old school bad assness.

I'm with Gene on the Springer professional. As nice as a TRP is I'd love to see what an extra $1000 gets you. Or a Bill Wilson Carry
