Saw an article in the PNJ today that say the sheriff bought 200 AR-15s for $445,960. After doing the math that comes to $2229.80 per AR! Later in the article it did say that it comes with an Aimpoint and supressor. I wonder if it was a compettive bid?

    That's a good deal if they're high-end piston carbines

Yeah I rarely see them having time to get those plugs in before a gunfight. We subjects are screwed, but I’m glad at least they don’t have to go deaf in self defense.

It also protects the hearing of the public be they crooks, bystanders, or victims.

"Each rifle also has a small flashlight attached near its barrel and a suppresser on its muzzle, which the sheriff explained is different than a silencer.

When firing a gun with a silencer, a person will hardly hear any noise after pulling the trigger. With a suppresser, a person still hears a loud bang. In this case, the suppressors help ensure deputies don't suffer hearing loss at work."

Close enough lol. Explanation might work in NYC, but not really too well here
