I'll be honest the ruger 5.7 is slim enough to carry my only issue is the bulky ass safety
I'm told they make a "pro" model now with safety deleted at least on one side now. You may be able to order the part and delete yours. Mine hasn't been an issue since I converted mine. When I hip carried it still tho it was a shirt magnet for sure. I heard the pro has a threaded barrel but I looked and can't confirm yet. I'll have to look further later.

@Rebel_Rider1969 controls swap over with tools to be fully ambidextrous too
Another cool factor about this many don't see at first is that since this is a grip magwell fed firearm, it's able to have a shorter overall length and longer barrel ratio than others gun of the same size. So you can get a few extra inches of barrel in the area where there used to be a magwell and chamber on other models. In many ways this is like a big MP7 sorta.

Grip fed magwells make for faster intuitive reloads also. Like with standard pistol the gross motor skills are easier to being two hands together, closer to the body than trying to find a magwell further away out front. Kind of hard to describe but yeah it's a thing lol

Yep. It's why Rebel and I have been singing praises about Keltec Sub2000's for years. Hard to beat these advantages in a 16" rifle. Now that somebody has produced one of these Sub2000 type designs utilizing a proven 100+ yard cartridge maybe others will do the same, seeing the advantages and profit to be had by filling a niche and then taking that niche mainstream in a big way

I'm hoping somebody brings to market a modern grip/magwell carbine utilizing the similar long and lean 7.62 Tokarev cartridge and it's existing surplus/aftermarket mags. For the uninitiated, the 30 caliber Tok is a proven 100+ yard pistol cartridge, too, but with almost twice the projectile weight as the FN57. Maybe a Tok carbine conversion like the chassis's available for Glocks, because the Tok's are already unusually skinny pistols, so nobody would notice any extra bulk after wrapping a polymer chassis around it

Yeah I'd also like to see a PDW exactly like this setup but in the new FK Bruno 7.5mm. They have the pistol only now and it seems like a hoss so far. It would be nice to have it paired with a PDW also. But... just at a glance from what I've seen it's like other "pistol" ammo. It appears chunky and heavy. Where as little rifle style rounds are super tiny and lightweight. So you can carry much more and keep more in the mags. Each time I try to think of any better calibers for a setup like this, that keeps coming back to my mind. It's nice being able to carry 500 or more rounds with ease. Even 9mm seems crazy heavy when compared lol

Use those new screaming fast solid copper 50 grain 9mm holler points that blow thru AR500
The civil defense? I have some of the ultralights. They're very weird feeling. Super lightweight. I know they'll tear up soft armor but I dunno about AR500. They're nice but pricey, and still take up more room than tiny 57 does. I'd like to see how far they fly straight also. Being so rear heavy and lightweight overall I bet they drop fast and keyhole quick over longer distances. Now I think about it I've not seen anyone test them at anything over 20ft or so. The same company makes some 223 I'd like to try tho. I also have some of the 60 grain 10mm lol. Those I bet would sting!

If anyone does buy one, I highly suggest getting the Tandemkross trigger they sell for these. It gets rid of the dingus and it's flat. It's adjustable also. The way it let's your finger rest lower makes it feel like a reduced weight. It's about the only upgrade I can think of you'd really want or need. Last I heard Tandemkross sells out fast on them. Now with this rifle on the market they'll sell out even faster
