Hey yall, Im going a different direction with the cabin. Still doing the homesite, but just going to have a stick build instead of a cabin. Florida is making me jump through too many hoops.

Is there any recommendations for a dirt guy to bring in dirt for a homesite and level it?

    Thanks!

What kind of grief are you getting?
    From FL?
Mostly dealing with the code changes from December.
HVAC, minimum ceiling height, architect's drawings for the code are just too expensive.
Floridas not the state to diy build, at least not in Escambia Co.
I'll move to a more free state before attempting again.

Why not look into Tiny Homes? Prebuilt, not very expensive and they are basically pulled in on a trailer frame built as part of the Tiny Home. I image the permits for that are a lot less since you aren't building it from the ground up.

The utility company won't hook you up unless you have all your permits and CO on file. So there is that...
They'll drop to a temporary poll and you can just run off that. The only deference of a temporary pole and a permanent pole is an extra ground rod.

If you don't pull permits they'll never know
Yeah but if wanna sell the house someday they will
Oh, no. I was afraid of that. So all your hard work is out the window? That's terrible, i feel so bad for you. Just sucks massively.
Conecha county is waaay better. Ya still gonna be able to use the kit?
We'll, just the digging for the piers. Gotta fill em back in and level for the brick build.
I have a potential buyer for the cabin kit. I'm including all the windows I bought plus architectural drawings with it. I have $36k in it and am selling for $25k.

My wife wants a "normal" size house lol. Especially since we have 2 girls; 4 year old and a 1 year old.

I've seen people park a houseboat on a trailer and live in it as if a cabin. Ready made and cheap. Find one with a rotten hull or a seized up motor and get it super cheap. If an inspector comes around it's a boat, not a building
