Well I got it finally put together... 3# volquartsen trigger group, new barrel, and new stock, and them trijicon 30mm rings..... Just waiting on the scope and the bipod to come in.....
I'm already now wanting to build a 10-22 magnum, I've found 80% complete receivers, with bolt and charging handle for $287 the rest is just 10-22 parts other than the barrel. Just gonna need someone to drill out the rest of the receiver... Should be able to build one for less than $550, you can also build a 17hmr with the same parts... Anyone intrested in helping, or joining me on the build?? http://www.ruger1022receiver.com/MAGNUM Page 11.htm
The receiver is made of steel because of the magnum pressures, their fore you will need a new receiver. The receiver on the .17 and .22 mag is actually a little longer as well. The receiver, barrel, charging handle, and bolt are different on the magnum. I believe in my little bit of research that all of the other standard 10-22 parts will convert...
Love the detail grain in wood, An that stock does show off the stainless rifle. Keeps up on how the Magnum turns out in the final range test,, Thinkin later mabe one myself,,, Thanks olecarver
awsome lookin rig, and i agree nice wood. im tinkering with mine, not much moolah to spend but theres things i can do myself, like the auto bolthold open mod and trigger mod and what not, also i polished the inside of the reciever too. already alot better than before. i hope you enjoy yours! scoob
