Well here it is on day one, I just picked it up today for $80 it's an old one, 1973 with a metal buttplate it's gonna be fun to build another fat barreled target thumper...

what is a good trigger to upgrade to from the factory one? I love my 10/22 but want a better trigger.

Go to ebay and search for 10/22 volquartsen trigger. Their is whole trigger groups, as well as sears and target hammers for good prices...

I went with a KIDD trigger set at 1 1/2 Lbs. also bought it on Ebay

Barrel is not threaded I'm trying my best to avoid suppressors, I could not afford getting all my barrels threaded... I know I would love it and I have shot several. 1 1/2# is light... I just ordered everything to build the latest from eBay.

Opted out of the gunshow today and went out and Shot the rifle, as well as many others. The rIfle is sweet 5 shot group at 80 yards and you could cover up all five shots with a quarter. The problem was the windage on the primary arms scope would not move, twisted the turret til I was blue in the face never budged. She was shooting high and right. I had previously ordered another scope just like it for the new build and swapped it out, gonna send the first one back. Sure hope that the swap works. Ill keep you posted.

Well all the parts showed up yesterday for the new build, Got the base coat layed down last night on the new build... This one is gonna be sweet, I'm going to follow up with skulls in od green, and tactical black of different sizes...

I have a new Pro Mag Ruger 10/22 mag 24 round bananna clip RUG-A16 made in the usa $15.00, if anybody needs one. I know I can't plop $1000.00 for the rifle. WOW thoese puppies are expensive, but it would be a geat weapon on small game.

mullet hunter that looks great. i have a stainless ruger m77 mk 2 with a black sythetic stock i would like to maybe camo or at leasxt make it not so shiny, would that stuff your using work for that?

It would work really well on your bolt gun, green, black, or whatever it would kill the shine..

Mullet Hunter your breakin ma heart, Ian ask about the base coat an ya go an make it a secret... Common brother, Ive been looking at the dip kits for a spell now... An they all sell the kit,,, But the dont include the metal etching primer to start the prosess. Im not gonna go into buss, just wanna do a couple of my own... But wont put $ into the kit till Im shur all my ducks are in a row... Epoxy??? Hummmm? Or do I have to buy a special primer? Is there one prime to use for wood synth, an metal or do I need to keep looking at seperate primers? Thanks olecarver
