Ok there must be a medic or someone with some medical training that can give me some insight on quick clot.
First some background on me. In February I had 4 stents put in my arteries but after they did the first 3 and took me to the ICU within 4 minutes, I had a major heart attack. Took me back to the Cath lab and worked on me about 2hrs. The stents had clogged up, so they redid them and added a 4th they, also change the blood thinner they were giving me. They stated it was the reason every clogged. Well back to ICU for overnight supervision. Next day they sent me home.
Well, the blood thinner they put me on insurance stated it was too expensive and not called for and just automatically put me on another cheaper brand. Well 7 days later at 10am I had another major heart attack at home. The attack was so bad the ambulance took me to West Florida as it was closer. I had originally had the stents done in Baptist hospital.
Well back into another Cath lab and they worked at least 4hrs on me. They found 3 stents clogged and they had also become unaligned. Well, they fixed what they could and put me back on the expensive blood thinner that had worked before. Back up to ICU for 4days of supervision. That 1st night I began to have another attack the surgeon was at my bedside in less than 3 minutes. He asked if I wanted to go back up to the lab or he suggested he give me a nitro drip thru the IV and give me oral morphine. I was to worn out and chose the nitro drip. Within 2hrs I was sleeping comfortably.
Next morning the surgeon came in and sat with my wife and I and side I chose right because going back in a 4th time wouldn't have helped as he went back over the video they took while doing the las procedure showed a lot of damage to the arteries and the heart chambers. He even had a 2nd surgeon look the video over.
So it was highly suggested that I get put in to in home hospice as with the heart condition sever diabetes, Parkinsons disease and a few other medical problems I'd get better care in hospice and hospice will cover all medication and special medical equipment needed.
So sorry about the long background. Here's the question.
With the blood thinners I get a scratch and I bleed a lot before clotting. But after a while they clot up. Yesterday I got a cut on my chest, and we wrapped it and put pressure on it and iced it. It kept bleeding threw 3 bandages and didn't clot for over 4hrs.
I started thinking today if maybe the quick clot thNineey sell might work to help it clot quick.
My nurse came by yesterday and checked on me and said we did the proper thing by bandaging, pressure , and ice it down. I haven't been able to ask her yet about the quick clot but thought someone here may have an opinion.
Nine months in Home Hospice, Nurse checks in 3 time a week. When advised to get into Hospice I figured I'd be way gone by now but I'm still here kicking. Don't know for how much longer but I'll keep pressing forward.
