So i was having failures to reset the trigger at the range the other day and figured it was something to do with the springs or disconnector. I was planning on changing out to a larue trigger anyway. When i changed it out i found a spent primer in the trigger assembly pocket. Any clue on how it could have gotten there? My only guess is it hitched a ride ont the bolt. Maybe that was the cause of my reset issue. Lol

Yeah it was remans from freedom muntions. First time i have personal seen it so was unsure. Thanks for the confirmation.
In pretty much every round the primer backs out on detonation. It hits the bolt face before the case and the case just slides back over it. Too much pressure and the primer gets blasted out and bent into a retarded shape and there’s no way the case can catch it again before hitting the bolt face. Maybe you and the gun are lucky it didn’t have more pressure.

Not sure how much you shoot but this happens a fair amount. Its one of the reasons to not shoot reloads for me. If you only shoot occasionally, you'd probably never see this.

I had a bad lot from freedom several years back. There were several(5?) In one shooting session. I contacted freedom and they replaced all the Ammo I had from that lot. FWIW my freedom 55gr reloads have been done of my most consistent range Ammo besides this issue.

Just had one recently with factory Ammo. It got stuck in the void between the back of the chamber and the inside wall of the barrel extension. Kept the bolt from going into battery.

I don't shoot as much as id like. Financial limitations. Only been shooting ar's since 2018 ish. Then the ammo price got ridiculous and i refused to buy ammo.l and horded what i had. I have had backwards primers and some other shenanigans but this was the first one i noticed. Probably no more then 5k rounds in the last several years.
