Rifle was 500$ on GCGF from Dereck if I recall. Stock 200 from one of Oneshot's connrctions. $ trigger 219$ misc lockwork parts 125$ warne 20 moa base 109$ millet lrs1 479$ Barrel rechambered to remove the infamous REM free bore and bolt face properly squared. groups shot off a bipod with a MOA systems rear bag. All shots fired approx 10 seconds apart. Load was BLC2 behind a 168 Sierra HPBT set .007" off the lands. Pretty much anyone that has ever been behind this rifle turns sub 1" groups at 200 yards. That's as low budget as it gets. If I can help out in any way Crazydoc let me know.

John sure knows how to build them. He help me with my first Rem .308 build and that thing was a tack driver and was built on a really low budget. I think I did it all for about $1,500.

Well the build is complete, minus the muzzle brake. I will be taking her to the range either tomorrow or Sunday to shoot/zero her in then be getting some pics of the finished piece of work.

Heading to the range in the AM to test 6 different loads. Will be a great AM for bbl cooling. Bill, where's the paper dude.....I sent some cheap Remington down range yesterday just wondering how the hand loads worked........how windy was it the top corner was flapping in the wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Have yet sent any decent ammo down range....saving it for the deer.

If you are still open to brakes, look into ROSS SCHULERS.

And X2 on John knowing his guns....

I just bought one from him. He sent it out Friday for me. $45 shipped! Can't wait to get it and try it out.

Today's shooting didn't go too well. I went to the range pretty frustrated from some stuff on the home front. Anyways after 40rds I was grouping about 1" at 100 yards. I'm sure next weekend will be better for me and the rifle. Once I have her all dialed in ill post some good groupings.

Best pic I have of my brake. A guy on here put it on. I wont mention him as Im not trying to make work for him. But he posted right above me. ;-) It came out great, and really eats up the recoil.

All due respect this isn't my thread. Previous comment deleted out of courtesy. Would be happy to continue the discussion on one of my threads or by P.M.

Doc looking good....I recommend going with a B&C stock...Stockys sells them. I am lover the stocks and hte store...Oh and Timney Trigger...get one, and then get the other...you won't be dissapointed.

If you want an SPS stock to mess with and bed yourself, I have one. you can have it. It is costly, but I recommend DEVCON aluminum.

You have a 1:10 with the AAC right?

Well here are some more pics....the scope is borrowed from a friend that I used this weekend. I really wanted to just play with her. Just got done mounting the muzzle brake I got from Ross Schuler! He does great work. I ended up sanding out a piece in front of the bipod that touched the barrel when you rested it on sandbags or the bipod. I am too embarrassed to post pics of this weekends groupings. Will take her back out this weekend and get some better ones.
