Where do you get those tamales, Ray? I'm always scared I'll be disappointed. Grocery advantage has some in the freezer section in there 5 for 17.99 campaign. Looks like a good deal.

Find them now and then at the Navy Commissary. I have not seen them anywhere else locally. Other local groceries we use are Walmart and Publix.

I tried the grocery advantage brand ones. I'd rather have the Hormel out of a can. Lol.
Microwave left the corn very gritty and raw tasting. It was also mentioned to steam or boil. The dry ones tasted decent boiled, but some of the wrappers popped and the corn was soggy. Threw them out.
I used to buy them by the dozen out in Perdido key area from "Elanas kitchen" years ago. She had the best homemade Mexican food

Easy redfish on the grill. Filet and leave the skin and scales on. Put some lemon pepper or your choice of seasoning. Mix parmesan cheese and mayo. Spread the mix on top of the filets. Grill skin side down to perfection.

Good cooler weather meal, beef stew. Made with peas this time and we both like it, so peas will be a standard.

Tried a box meal the wife tasted while out of town at a nice French restaurant. Used shrimp instead of tradition prawns. Found it at Publix, and she said it was real good.

Why does camping chow taste so much better than kitchen prepared chow, all things being equal? I found this in this was the case when being in the field in Oklahoma and West Germany also. Just last week I had the best burger I've ever eaten on a Smokey Joe grill in the middle of Nowhere, Alabama.

Little Surf N Turf here tonight
cooked the filet really rare on the Traeger then seared it on the Blackstone...stood them up on the bacon and rolled it until bacon was done....soaked the skrimp in milk and spices...then lightly dredged them in flour then in the deep fryer for about 3 minutes.
Shaved those Brussels Sprouts and sauteed them in bacon drippings from 3 strips...along with the chopped bacon and some onion softened

just sayin...that's enough skrimp to just piss somebody off

Didnt want to deal with scalding a pig. Its still too hot even after the rain. Yellow jackets were showing up while i was finishing. But i dispatched a small pig and got 16 lbs deboned for sausage!
