Looking back. My first Tundra was the smaller model also. (Cannot remember the year)
Had plenty of torque and pulled my river boat ( tunnel hull w/ Yamaha 90) to Cedar Key several times per year.
Put 70K on it with no probs whatsoever. --- SAWMAN
ADDED: Had plenty of hogs in the back of it over the years also .... right Frank .
Yeah mine is more of a large Tacoma with a V8 but it works perfect for what I need in a truck.

Yeah, mine was the same color but not as fancy wheels.
The power of that V8 vs the size/weight ratio of the truck made them a strong truck. --- SAWMAN

I like paying cash and I don’t have it to be able to pay cash for a new truck
Everything I own is paid for except for the wife’s lawn mower. I make payments on it just to keep my credit score up so if I find a place in Alabama I can get it financed

Trust me, it was hard getting rid of my 99 z71 with 300k on it... but the transmission was going, and heated/cooled seats are nice!

I had a “first half of the year” 1999 Z-71 with the 5.7 engine.
Dexacool fluid messed up the engine at 92,000 miles.
    $4,800 for a new engine.

Ooof. Mine had the 5.3, to my knowledge it's still ticking. Sold it back in May. I loved that truck. Put a pile of deer and other critters in it over the years.

1999 was a split year. Mine had the old squarer body and the 5.7.
They changed to your body style mid-year.
    I think I paid $24,500 brand new.
They had big problems with Dexacool coolant. I believe there was a class action lawsuit.

James, you would not have given me as much for it as World Ford did.
Traded it with 24K on it. Two years old. --- SAWMAN

    I remember those T100's.
The wood cutters in Maine all had them.
They would load two 55gal drums of deisel in the back, three chainsaws,a lunchbox or two, usually with several togue or white perch sandwiches and a couple Schlitz beers and head 50 miles into the woods, down a packed shale 20ft logging rd,with the volume of their CB all the way up. --- SAWMAN

Agreed, It's definitely not a great time to be buying a used vehicle. I bought my kid a 04 Durango with 105k miles this week, paid 5300, they were asking 6k. Shame but this felt like a deal after looking around at the used market. Everything we looked at was overpriced junk. Im thankful to have paid off my 2016 Silverado this year. Im around 45k miles on it and no plans on ever selling it.

I went and looked at an 01 Ranger this morning for $5400. I should of stayed home the front end had been partially rebuilt but on the test drive when I hit a bump it had a bad shimmy. Made me think of the death wobble in a Jeep

Yep. The day I started this thread THAT was the time to buy a vehicle, to beat the rush, to save money before the price increase. Now that time has passed. Unfortunately buyers in today's market (both new and used) are now most likely going to feel taken advantage of, no matter what they buy or where they buy it. Even if in today's market what they buy is a fair deal, it won't compare to just a half a year ago

Love my new truck!!! Gonna tint the front windows and get a bull bar/ brush guard. Dang ford puts alot of bells and whistles on these. 5.0 is really zippy too!
My 2018 and 2020 turbocharged F150's both in "Sport" mode would really plant your ass in your seat on an I-10 on-ramp

Haven't tried sport mode yet. In normal it moves with some yank and growl. Was crossing the 4 lane, getting into sb lane and got a little too much foot in it. Suprised me.
