We use our tracked loader for pretty much everything, if it’s too big we use a Toro Dingo. I would say a skid steer would be a necessity for the homestead, with the mini ex just behind.

Yeah I just spent 30k on my New Holland tractor so looks like I'm gonna be waiting awhile. I've been able to do everything I needed with it, minus the backhoe

Yeah she helped for about an hour straight. I was surprised lol . She loves being a helper
Need to get her overalls and muck type boots. Working with Dad clothes. That way she can help and you won't catch it for her messing up her clothes, been there.

Yeah..funny u mention that. She was helping me paint and got it all over her 'pretty' boots and pants. Her mommy was NOT very appreciative that I let her try her hand at the painting hahahaah

See. Been there. She'll like her special working with dad clothes. Also girls are just as good as boys for helping.

So I figured I'd start a thread with progress and questions here.

    Property:
    14.5 Acres
    Pond, about half an acre
    Cliff for gun range backstop
Creek runs through after storms. Dries when no rain.

I looking into either a 40x60 pole barn single story or a 30x40 2 story Arch Cabin from Texas.
You might think about using shipping containers. I bought a new one and total price on the ground on my property was 3100.00 that is 8' x 20'

This week get to pay the government to build on my property.
Just remember, we already "own nothing and are happy". You may hold the deed to that land but try not paying your taxes (rent to the government) and see what happens ;) government men with guns show up and take what's actually theirs away from you
