Had a screw break that holds the MOS plate down on a gen 4 19. Tried to drill it out and got about 3/4 of the way and now can’t get the rest.

    Can anyone help?

Maybe a real small tap or ez out. Small bladed screwdriver , torks gently used to back it out. I picked up a g40 with zev parts( like all!) with the same issue for $550. Luckly I got it out, chased the threads and was all good.

Finesse goes along way in these situations. I know my Finesse level sometimes is very low, everything becomes a nail. That's when I call in a specialist, the bride. Or put it down and look at it tomorrow.

left/ counter clockwise drill bit with something to centralize the bit in the bore. I’ve extracted a lot of broken off stuff with that combo. Occasionally totally ruined stuff too.

It looks pretty biffed. Take rrr easy.

Oh dang, I wish I could help but aside from what you've done, I have no suggestions other than to add / soak it in some liquid wrench for a day and then maybe try again.

You're going to laugh, but if those holes that you drilled come together somewhat, you might could wedge a sacrificial Allen wrench in there. Cut it down on the short end to hook the "90" in there between the holes and lock the long end in the chuck of a thread cutting tool. Soak it overnight and try in the morning... then throw it off a bridge when it doesn't work! Good luck.

The two holes started after the screw buggered. I’m not worried about the threads at this point, and if nothing works, a plate goes on and it’s a non mos for now lol

clamp two small allen wrenches or two small tempered steel bits together with vise grips and try twisting it out, after a soak overnight with liquid wrench

Get a helicoil in the proper thread size, using a drill press to keep it straight drill it out oversize to fit the helicoil and thread the hole, done, easy.
