I can only get Dish, Direct, or Cable Options in my subdivision, no mediacom. Cable Options is cheap, but if I want a DVR then I have to buy one and Tivo charges a monthly subscription fee to record your shows. WTF!

Dish Network just went up from $72 a month to $112 a month so they are getting the boot, I just can't decide if I want to go to Direct or cut the cord all together. The big question I have is how do you watch The Walking Dead without cable or satellite?
I know this thread is old but probably a lot of new update information out there these days we can talk about. I switched from DirecTV to Cox after they lied and increased my prices in the 2nd year $40 higher than the guy who signed me up promised. Well now Cox is doing what they always do, sign you up cheap and then slowly increase you every few months. I'm seriously ready to ditch cable but the first problem I want to tackle is the antenna setup for the local over the air channels. I can get a 40' telescoping antenna mast from Channel Master for $179 which would put my antenna up about 45' in the air. I hate buying things like this over the internet before seeing if I can get the item locally or at least see what the local guys have to offer. The only problem is I don't know anywhere locally that sells antenna masts and mounting hardware. Anybody know where I can find this stuff locally?
