Just listening to the news and the anti gun rhetoric has started. "what is the president's plan to ensure this doesn't continue to happen?" Honestly guys what are your thoughts on something like that? Do people really thing that banning guns is the answer? That bayonet lugs equals murders? That limiting high capacity and number of gun ownership the answer? I am not smart on politics by any means but it hurts my head listening to some of these folks that advocate getting rid of guns all together. All this rhetoric while they and their families are under armed guard by well trained men. Are their families worth more than ours? The ones advocating additional control, how many of them know how to use a gun or have served their country under arms in combat. Which of them have put it on the line like a lot of great average Joe Americans out here? I do not understand these peoples politics. I do not consider myself left or right. I believe what I believe on different subjects regardless of party agenda or lines. Its absolutely abhorrent that someone did this but I do not understand disarming everyone over the actions of a few. I just do not get it.

We have a horrendous slaughter of people, the BG is thankfully dead. Unless there is some yet to be know other person involved, there is no further physical penance to be administered (may his Soul burn in Hell for all eternity). There will probably be a Civil Suit or Class Action Lawsuit against BGs estate if there is anything to be had. Frivolous Suits will be filed against the Hotel, Music Venue, the firearms and ammo Mfgs, Dist, and FFLs.

The above, will not satisfy the gun grabbers. They are the vultures circling the dead and wounded signaling for all to come feast on what the carnage provides to their anti-gun issues. They will feed off these Victims and their Families for decades to fuel the elimination and restrictions of your Rights. In any other crime, once Justice has been served on the BG its done but when its a shooting crime they press to punish all who exercise their 2A Rights now and those of future generations.

I would say no, there isn't a particular section of the country here trying to separate from the US like the Catalan and Basque region is trying to do in Spain. The battle has been going on a long time there, the NE region of Spain where Barcelona is located has wanted to separate and be there own country for years but the Spanish government isn't going to let that happen. I don't think it would be much different here if certain states tried to succeed from the country. The problem here is Liberals vs Conservatives.

If y'all have watched the videos by the people that attended there this wasn't a binary trigger or a bump fire stock. Odd part is he was caught in the 32nd floor but when you watch the video you can see muzzle flashes from the 4th floor then the sound signature right after. At first I thought the fire rate sounded just like a 240B but after thinking about it. A 240 could be a little hard to get on the market and then compared it to an RPK and well the sound signatures sound identical. Bump fire stock or a binary trigger he can keep steady sluggish like first over and over again. Whether we will know or not these weren't using bump fire or binary triggers and the fire rate is to fast to be an auto M4 etc.

Some odd stuff to this is how a woman ran into the lobby and yelled “You’re all going to die tonight” before the gun broke out. Another thing that is odd is this huge massacre happened as the HPA is trying to be pushed.

Agreed. I was just thinking out loud with talks of secession. However, could a similar scenario play out here over, for instance, gun ownership?

I could definitely see gun ownership bringing about something similar here. I think there is a large percentage of this country that won't de-arm as easily as Germans did under Hitler. As far as the argument about whether it was full auto, bump fire or whatever is a moot point. They have already reported that at least two of the guns were modified to run full auto. My guess is he had a mix of guns with full auto and some bump fires. Probably had guns split up stationed at the two locations where the holes in the windows were and just kept going back and forth grabbing the next loaded gun once one gun ran out of ammunition. Latest report says he had 23 guns in the room, he was definitely read for a large scaling killing. He also shot the first security guard who tried to stop him by shooting him through the door so he did put up a fight but ultimately killed himself when swat blew the door.

The suite he was in was a 2 room suite so the delay may have been him going back and forth between rooms for the best angles to shoot into the most tightly packed group. He was a very wealthy real estate investor too so money doesn't look like an issue, hard to say, may never know for sure his motive.

I've heard several things about him - he was a retired accountant, he was a professional gambler, he was a wealthy speculator, he had plenty of money.
Then I saw his house on the news and it looked like less than a $200,000 house to me. That's not a rich guy's house.
Then one former neighbor said he was very friendly. Another one said they didn't know him because he never spoke or waved. I think the news is just putting anything out there that anybody says without checking it out.
