55gr 223 out of a 16" barrel has done a wonderful job on medium hogs (sub 100 yards) and coyotes out to around 200. The 223 is fine for farther out, but identification between a coyote and a small deer can get a bit difficult past 300 with my thermal. I have some HP 223 around somewhere, but...
I've been using CorrosionX -- apparently they have some stuff made specially for guns now. Either way, I like it more than regular oil / frog lube / other gun lubes I've used.
I have a couple AR9s and those little bastards recoil harder than a 223, mostly because the bolt is so heavy. Direct blow back on a 9mm is basically HighPoint tier. Can't have that!
I actually solved the hard charging issue, but the mechanism was a bit too unreliable due to bad geometry. But...
Considering that this is being done on a manual mill, practically the same thing -- especially since I'm learning as I go. Might work, might explode, who knows? But that's half the fun.
Worked on this gun I've been designing off and on for the past little while. Idea is to use a 0% lower, ie, 3d printed. Standard parts are AR barrel, trigger pack, grip, and Glock mag. Uses a roller style delayed recoil mechanism, but alas... things work better on paper than when they're...
I domed a deer with my baby glock. Went hunting with a girlfriend, dropped the deer with a 7mm and we walked over. It was down, coughing up blood and looking pathetic, so I pulled the glock and shot it in the head like I was taking out the trash. She was horrified how casually I did that...
Old thread, but for anyone else looking into this -- I've done few of these.
Drill press with an xy table is going to be shady, at best. If you get one of the jigs that uses a router and milling bit, it's way easier. A couple of tips for the router jig:
-- Use lots of coolant. Look up...
6.5CM is a badass round, but not nearly as popular as 308. Recently saw a budget AR10 with a stainless barrel shooting sub MOA groups with Wolf steel ammo. For SHTF and lets say sub 600 yard ranges, just stick with the 308. Other bonus is you already have another weapon in 308, stock piling one...
It seems like someone who doesn't understand the internet typed this up. We've been living in the "wild west" of internet with basically no problems. If service providers even tried what you're saying, everything would crash over night.
Then, try to enforce it. Example, I have satellite...
I've seen so many arguments on this and it's hard to tell which is really the correct way forward. However, Google and Facebook were huge fans of Net Neutrality, which makes me suspicious of it. The biggest issue, IMO, is the content censorship by domain companies and places like facebook...
My "bump in the night gun." AK63D parts kit, TDI rail, some crazy bright light, and a cheap red dot that I found in a box of old parts -- still holds zero! The muzzle brake is tapco I think. Best $12 I ever spent.
