      FMJ for pest critters?

      55gr 223 out of a 16" barrel has done a wonderful job on medium hogs (sub 100 yards) and coyotes out to around 200. The 223 is fine for farther out, but identification between a coyote and a small deer can get a bit difficult past 300 with my thermal. I have some HP 223 around somewhere, but...

      I've been using CorrosionX -- apparently they have some stuff made specially for guns now. Either way, I like it more than regular oil / frog lube / other gun lubes I've used.

      I have a couple AR9s and those little bastards recoil harder than a 223, mostly because the bolt is so heavy. Direct blow back on a 9mm is basically HighPoint tier. Can't have that! I actually solved the hard charging issue, but the mechanism was a bit too unreliable due to bad geometry. But...

      My "bump in the night gun." AK63D parts kit, TDI rail, some crazy bright light, and a cheap red dot that I found in a box of old parts -- still holds zero! The muzzle brake is tapco I think. Best $12 I ever spent.

      Used to be in the same boat until I got some land in Defuniak. On holidays, you can hear gunfire in every direction. One of my neighbors thought I was shooting full autos -- nah, just a quick finger and a sweet trigger on the AK.

      What's your favorite IWB Holster

      My favorite is Stealth Gear. Very high quality and extremely comfortable. XD9 sub compact. Will be getting another one when I get a Glock 43.
