On second thought it can't be a GAU-8 which has a 30mm bore diameter. Being a 30mm bolt head, it would almost have to be a 20mm bolt.

Doesn't look like any Gatling gun I'm familiar with. We used Gau-2 which was predecessor to the M-134. The M-61 had safety wire holes in it and I couldn't see any in that pic. There should be a NSN# which could be looked up to identify.

i have an old field manual for a M163 and i did not see anything like that in it for the gun system as limited as it is .

After looking around today, I'm pretty sure it's a bolt for an older 20mm cannon. It uses a kinetic firing pin, instead of electric primer ignition.
