Winged Sprint Car at Five Flags Friday Night

The blazingly fast winged sprint cars will race at our local track, Five Flags Speedway, tomorrow (Friday) night. These things have set a new track record every year they've been here, 133mph average last year.

No starters, no transmissions and not much car these things must be kept to the floor through the corners or they will lose the downforce and spin out.

Absolutely !!!! They're nothing but tires, ENGINE, wing and a tiny little rabbit roll cage to protect your noggin.

On foggy nights the top wing cuts a channel through the fog . And they haul serious ass.

Had the chance to drive one a few laps.....violent and scary ride. The torque just about twists the car in half.

Just got back from watching them practice, I forget just how fast and little those cars are. Man do they zip around that track and stay stuck to it like glue. Counted 14 so far, should be about 2 dozen for the race.
