A buddy of mine had to have a rifle shipped via FFL to FFL because it was in comifornia. It's his grandfather's gun and means a lot to him. Well this is how it showed up this week!!!

There's someone he found that can't get to it for a few weeks. And we can sit here all day long saying how it wasn't packed right, or handled right etc... But the fact is now it needs repaired and refinished.

Anyone that does this kind of thing in the Okaloosa/Santa Rosa countries area?

Needs drilled and put back together, new butt plate, then finished good as new.

What type of firearm is it? Caliber? Type of stock? It is definitely possible to fix but, it’s not going to be a easy fix with the split running directly through the butt plate screw hole.

Smith named Phil at Jay's Range in Baker. He pinned and glassed an Indian 308 Enfield stock for me a few years ago and did a great job

I wouldnt have any work done until after getting some kind of insurance money for it. Renters/homeowners insurance can have clauses for damaged stuff. Also, whoever shipped it might have included a basic policy even if you didnt purchase one, so ask them. A used replacement stock can sometimes be had for as little as $20 if it's a popular model or a surplus model. Jay's Guns in Crestview had a small pile of old barrels and stocks last time I was there. Also check Tradewinds Pawn down on 98 in Midway. He's neck deep in hundreds of rifles, parts and accessories. Like damn Disneyland when I get to go to Tradewinds
