I traded around some .30-30 cases to get all one head stamp...finished up 200 R-P .30-30 cases...all sized, trimmed and cleaned in SS pins...then in some cob to finish them.

I watched a local online auction and seen 2 hi point 9mm sell for $300 each.... and remember there is an auction premium and sales tax to add to that price.

Are people that stupid or is it felons buying at that price since there is no background check?

played with the .22-250 a little more today

the 50gr TSX FB are running 38??fps but the cases seem undersized for some reason
the 62gr GameKings in Hornady cases are averaging 33??fps and grouping OK. The ES was 24 and the SD was9.?
the target from those,,,disregard the one at the tip of the diamond and the one to the left...was zeroing from the POI shift with the muffla...looks like it is still .5 right too
    IMG_2116.jpg

here is the measurement of the 4 in the group...some of the data in the readout is incorrect. My buddy measured it on his phone and sent it to me.
    Screenshot_20240504_144803_Range_Buddy1.JPG

I think the load is still to hot. With the same charge in R-P cases it averaged 3335 with the GameKings with an ES of 18 and SD of 8.1...both were .020 off the lands. Going to see if I can do better. What I hate the most is pulling the others

I don’t go to Pensacola often, but went today. Had to deliver some linotype, return a borrowed CD, pick up a couple boxes of casting stuff from an estate (Very nice condition Saeco model 24 bottom pour pot, cast iron melting pot, 2 mold handles, ingot mold, ladle, 31 pounds of soft lead, 3 molds). Saeco 452 mold (255gr swc 45 Colt), some type of Lyman 40 and 44 cal rifle molds…need to research them. Even if the molds are not used, I did not hesitate on the deal. I don‘t have a 45 Colt. No guns to look at…family sent them off to an auction.

Was shown a pile of cowboy holsters and cartridge belts (guy was a cowboy shooter). I had no interest in same, but I saw a web cartridge belt with a N.Y. buckle in the pile. It did not look new-ish made like all the rest. Figured it must be an aged reproduction until I noticed the metal had 1800’s patent dates, the Mills name, maker name, location, etc. Get on the Internet…it’s a New York State Guard Krag ammo belt. I have a NY State Guard trapdoor, so the buckle is of interest. I have a Krag, but don’t know what unit had it. Only difference between Trapdoor and Krag belts was the size of the cartridge loops. Tan was infantry. They go for crazy money at auction. The seller was also on the Internet, so saw what I was seeing as prices. Said make offer…too much $ for me to even try…she said $20…I said stand back, as I’ll be opening my wallet so fast and don’t want to hit you as it is flipped open. She laughed, and the belt was mine. Sold at auctions or by collector shops they go for 10-15 times as much.

Needed to do something fun to take my mind off of stuff. Tested my advantage arms 22 cal upper. Worked great and accurate. No stoppages, fast or slow.
Tks @maxpower220 for the great deal!
Going to try on g26, hope it works. Lost my poly filler piece, probably have to order another. X grip mag cover fits perfectly.
Next up is to install the g flex trigger sometime and try. Lightweight too, huge plus in my book.
    Ive got 25rd mags coming.....

Just tested, works great. I wonder why AA sells a specific g26 model?? Maybe because of the gap?? $14 piece would cover the end. If I could find mine it would be. Shot fine without the X grip sleeve too. Works with the bulk ammo, big plus.
    Thanks @maxpower220 !!

ordered a flat of those Estate shell I used to shoot a lot of. These are #7.5 and the ones I used to use were #8. I doubt I will miss the 60ish pellet advantage between the two $105 + tax shipped. I remember when they were $2.99 and went up to $5.99 a box...fun times!

Their buckshot is very good too. 12ga. Patterns tight. Several years ago the foley walmart cleared it out for $5 a box. Bought 20, wish I'd bought a cart full.

It doesn't seem that long ago that I bought all of my AA Handicap 28ga loads from W/M for $7.99 a box. Kinda stings in more ways than one now to shoot a flat in a day. Might have to spread on over 3 visits now :D

I have always shot my .22lr rifles at 50 yards but decided to try at 100 yards this outing. I tried many different brands of ammo but got this group withRWS R50. Rifle is a 88 year old Mauser, Sub moa, I’m happy.

I can’t find any r50 either, down to a box or less. Eley Club XTRA shoots about as well for me in the Mausers but I guess it’s been discontinued. I can find the Club but not the Club XTRA. The Club doesn’t work as well for me.

I have 1 box a buddy gave me to try. I understand from something I saw that we shouldn't expect any shipments to the CONUS until late June. I might check to make sure it is still on a couple of lists. I have been using the last 2 bricks of Tenex I have...about to get into the last one. All of a sudden my rifle doesn't like it since I cleaned it. Maybe I should try some of the S-K I have to see if it likes it now
