I would just add that on April 20, 2024, the GOP-led House passed the foreign aid bill (you guys know this) that had absolutely no funding for our border crisis.

I have to wonder, with all the aid going overseas, how much I will owe in taxes now to fix the so-called problems of other countries? This sure doesn't seem like my GOP anymore. (rant off)

I had to pay $4,001 on taxes this year, the most I've ever paid. I wish they would do away with income tax and just have a standard tax on purchases.

didn't like the vat tax when i first heard of it several years ago, but it makes sense, makes everyone pay, even illegals and tourists from other countries... only problem is, killing some of the other taxes we pay to compensate.. crap sucking politicians won't kill other taxes, just add to the burden...

i am waiting for the shooting to start any month now...

I don't necessarily mind paying taxes, it's the fact that we have ZERO control over where the money goes. Why should my county have to send part of its sales tax revenues back to Montgomery? The idea is to spread the wealth, of course. So poorer counties profit off more affluent. On a national scale its even worse...and gets sent overseas.

Russia and other BRICS countries are moving their currencies back to the gold standard. What we are witnessing, I believe, is late stage looting of the US economy. Some think digital currencies will delay the end, I disagree.
Yep. All that funny money won't be so funny. Maybe we'll be able to borrow some numbers from onw of our partner nations.
