can anyone tell what weapon this soldier is carrying ?? sorry bout the edits but have my reasons.. anyways it appears to be a bolt action?

im interested in the one carried by the front facing soldier, right behind is a bare armed soldier holding a weapon with a pistol grip, and then the soldier with his back...

M16A1 you can see the Forward Assist.

The one in the foreground looks to be an XM16E1 or an early (pre-Dec. 1967) M16A1 judging from the 3-prong FH. Both used 603 upper receivers, but the XM16E1 had a partial-fence lower receiver and the M16A1 had a full-fence lower receiver. Since the side of the magwell is not visible, it is hard to tell which one it is.

ok thanks... hard to really see but i thought i was seeing a bolt handle but yea it looks to be a forward assist .. also does appear to have the lower portion of a mag showing
