This may seem like a dumb question.. but I'm going to ask anyways...

I have a UTS-15 and we are having issues with 2 3/4' buck shot not fitting all 14 in the chambers.... but I can fit 2 3/4" bird.

What & why? whats the difference between the two.. besides the obvious? Can the uts not fit the buck??

    Any advice would be helpful.

There should be no diffrence between 2-3/4 buck or bird/target ammo. The main diffrence is the length of the brass up the side of the shell, overall length should be the same.

I assumed it might be the highbrass. I just couldnt wrap my brain around why!
Evidently the UTS has a bad reputation.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

I guess you have measured the loaded ammo?
I know that some of the manufacturers produce ammo that is slightly longer than they are supposed to be.
Supposed to be 2 3/4 ... But are actually closer to 2 7/8

I learned about shell length issues when I bought that Safir T-14. Huge difference in unfired shotshell length between loads and manufacturers. This was chambered in .410 2/12 and there was variations of up to 3/8".

the 2 3/4" refers to a spent shell, right?!
@ willwork4guns: No, I have not measured the spent shell, I took their word for it.
However, now that Im guessing that the high brass has something to do with it,,, I may measure spent.
But spent shells should have no bearing on fitting in the chamber. Its the before measurement,,, and the high brass is measuring the same as the low brass buckshots. Thats where I get thrown off.
Why... Is the highbrass a bit larger in circumference.. the rim???
Anything ya got guys would help me out. I just cant wrap my brain around it.

Different brands will likely have different dimensions, what brand or brands have you tried? I have some Winchester, some Federal and a couple of other brands at home that I can check dimensions on.

I haven't had any trouble with my KSG fitting full capacity either, like scuba said above, but they are different animals. I did however have trouble with the smallish recoil pad and the joints in the material that my cheek contacted ripping the hair out of my face when I did a 15 round mag dump.
