I bought a used 360 in .38 Spl on Gunbroker. Looks like it wasn’t fired much.
Going over it I found two issues that are bothering me.
#1 is the barrel sleeve moves about the actual steel barrel. Is this normal?
#2 shaking the revolver, something is loose within the action.
I have only dried fired it. Seems to work okay. Any suggestions?

i Suggest you don’t shoot it, and call or email smith and Wesson, then email the seller.
Idk what could be loose in the action and have it still function right, but the barrel Shroud and sleeve should all be snuggled up. If you go and shoot it, I think it’s in the realm of possibility the sleeve will take off down range.

    Good luck with it,

the rattle is more than likely from the hammer block. its normal. Loose barrel is not normal. call customer service. It requires a special tool to tighten without damaging your barrel.

The little piece with the elongated hole sitting on top of the trigger in this picture, is doing the rattling. It doesn't pose an issue in my 360. It rattles no matter what I do. Moves up and down by that elongated hole. Nothing about the barrel or sleeve moves though.

As JedClplT illustrates and describes so well. The hammer block he refers to rides inside a channel in the cover plate. If the channel was cut out a little wide you'll here the rattle. The channel has to be larger than the hammer block to allow for movement.
A barrel sleeve or shroud should not move. It should be rock solid. As was suggested earlier, I would not fire the gun.
