Well, I'd like to say it was a pleasure, but I would be lying. I now know what it's like to be cold, really cold.

I would'nt have traded my time in the service for anything. Prase these men and women serving now with there repeated deployments and what they are doing. I hope you all stay safe and GOD BLESS.

Yes Thanks to the veterans and thier familys, especially the familys of all the POW's - MIA's - KIA's and deployed soliders, it must be very difficult on them.
I have regrets, lots of regrets, but joining the service was not one of them. I think it should be mandatory for all able body men.

Yeah, I spent 4 winters in Montana on missile sites. I know what you mean.

Since it's Memorial weekend, here is a pic of my dad and their B-24 crew in England late in WW II. Back row, 3rd from left.

Great pic John, truly the "Greatest Generation".

B-24s delivered almost twice the bomb tonnage to Europe than the B-17, but the B-17 got all the press and glory. The B-24 was the ugly sister, a work horse that served well and rarely got the deserved recognition.

God Bless your father, his crew, and all those that served to defend our nation in it's darkest hours.

Memorial Day is for remembering what FREEDOM costs. I will never forget my buddies who served with me in the Korean "Police Action". Some were lucky, like me, and got back OK, and some gave all they had to give. And so, I honor them and all others who served, by sounding the 24 sacred notes of Taps on my old bugle, on Memorial Day and Veterans' Day.......and I continue to wonder where we would be, without such men and women.

Yes Sir, 2 of them and an ACE. That display box now resides at the Naval Museum in Pensacola, I donated all Dad's memorabilia to them after the Naval Airfield in Corpus Christi was named after him.. We lost him in 1984.
