Just got back home from a couple of hours at the meet. A lot of guns and a lot of shooters. Looked like everyone was having a good time. David, thanks for sponsoring this.
Really great to see everyone today and a real treat to shoot some neat guns. James' mk11 is a tack driver, makes me want to scope the SCAR 17. I'm glad Ian got him to bring it out. Gator's Ruger was surprisingly and refreshingly good, highly recommended at the price point. Good to see Gene and his very nice Springers. Good to see batman again, and the rest of the TGD crew again (chop, skip, jogan). Nice to meet crazydoc, ksenter, johnb, and egordon. MikeRowe, I completely forgot to let you shoot the 1911, got distracted, sorry! I think the Baer will be more representative of the breed with its steel frame. Let me know when you and Kenny take the 50 bmg out, maybe I can join and bring them out. Also great to see and meet anyone else I may have forgotten to mention.
Dave, thanks for putting it together and for letting everyone burn through you 50 cal ammo. I LOVE seeing that grin on people's faces after they shoot one. All that noise and muzzle flash makes for a great day at the range.
Went alittle late but I got to put about 300 more rounds through my Canik TP9. I also shot my $60 Remington 760 pump 30-06, it shot well and was actually sighted in even though the scope is all beat up. Glad I took a chance on that trade.
Glad I got out, David thanks for having us out. Great seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones. Dan appreciate letting me shoot the Wilson and the 500 S&W that 4" barreled revolvers a beast! Got to shoot Eric's Wilson and Wesson ECO, and Batman's 1911 Sig. All nice guns and more accurate than me.
Wilson definitely on the want list that and the ECO! In the meantime going to continue to enjoy my Springers!
Had a good time and got to hang with a bunch of cool people. Although we spent most of our time on the rifle range early, and didn't get to see a lot of people that were at the pistol range. Sounded like you guys had some fun though. Thanks to TGD for a great event. The parking lot was packed when we got there, it was a good day.
