I have a good friend that is Australian, we chat on line nowadays about once a week. He's not a gun guy, didn't grow up around them or anything, doesn't care to own one or even shoot one but even he knows the Australian gun control plan made things worse.

For me,first time in Australia was in 1970. Went with a bud in the Australian Army when he went home on leave from SE Asia.

What a great time we had and what a great place Australia was .......... back then. The change saddens me. --- SAWMAN

Funny thing is, the first article I read from the AP didn't mention Australia by name. Just said a shooting occured in Sydney and the New South Wales police were investigating.

You can go to jail for carrying a pocket knife in Australia. Been to Australia half a dozen times. Some of the older guys talk about missing their guns. Sad really.

How in the world do such supposedly rugged people become disarmed of everything down to a POCKET KNIFE? It makes me wonder if the rough and tumble, rugged outdoorsy nature of the Aussies is just a myth. They've been disarmed for a good long time and I can't find any semblance of a real effort to reverse it.

How in the world do you live in Australia without carrying a pocket knife?

it happened quickly too, after a mass shooting in the 90's I think..probably while all the conservatives were working..

it is sad, how they were disarmed, and thousands of guns were destroyed...some beautiful ones too..our fate also, unless we continue to oppose govt overreach

    keep on prepping
