I have several pounds of liquid mercury from when my father was a gunsmith. He used it to extract lead build up from gun barrels.

    $50 or trade.

Just responded to your PM. For some reason I am not seeing them unless I go to GCGF.

I read a story about a village that made clocks. They used mercury in gold to help it flow for plating. Whole village died. The article was about how expensive the clocks were back then and worth now.

Ok. It's not as bad as radium. Basic chemistry rules apply

It does turn into vapor and is much more dangerous when mixed with lead. Use in a well ventilated area and be careful how disposed of.

    Another fun fact.

Mercury was in use by the early 16th century, and remained the primary treatment for syphilis until the early 20th century. Syphilis led to stigmatizing disfigurations that were treated with surgery, including pioneering attempts in rhinoplasty.

How many of you old timers played with mercury when you were a kid?
    “Old Timers”????
Well actually, grew up in a bush town in Alaska. Gold mining requires mercury. Used to play with mercury at recess.
