I purchased this through "AR15PARTS.COM" sometime ago and I've decided to make space in my safe.
This is their given description for the upper.
This also comes with the following.
A 4 round magazine with modified follower
A 10 round magazine with modified follower
And 33 rounds of 300 grain round nose flat points
I've put 77 rounds through it and never had any issues regardless of whether or not I was using an A2 or Carbine buffer tube.
Recoil was surprisingly pleasant using an A2 buffer and spring.

- Barrel: 16 inch 458 SOCOM Heavy 4150 Chrome Moly Parkerized Barrel with 1x14 Twist, SOCOM Feed Ramps, and 5/8x32 Threads.
- Upper: Mil-Spec Upper Receiver machined from 7075 T6 aluminum forging with forward assist and dust cover installed. Hard coat anodized MIL-STD 8625 Type 3 Class 2.
- Rail: 12" Narrow Profile Free Float Rail machined from 6061 T6 aluminum. Comfortable and light weight, with M-LOK or KEYMOD attachment points along the entire length at 3, 6, and 9 positions. Hard coat anodized MIL-STD 8625 Type 3 Class 2.
- Gas System: Carbine Length Gas System with 0.875" Low Profile Gas Block.
- Muzzle Device: Competition Muzzle Brake with crush washer.
- Bolt Carrier Group: 458 SOCOM Nitride BCG with a 8620 Steel Carrier, 9310 Steel Bolt, and MIM Steel Extractor. Mag Particle Inspected and Pressure Tested.
- Charging Handle: Mil-Spec AR15 Charging Handle
- BOLT/BCG: Our 458 SOCOM bolt carrier group (BCG) meets or exceeds Tromix specifications to ensure consistent performance of our 458 SOCOM upper assemblies.
- LOADING: Only load 458 SOCOM ammunition from a magazine. DO NOT load through the ejection port as a slam fire can occur upon bolt release.
