    Well this little guy scared the crap out of me when I went to put my garbage out today. Was in the leaves under the garbage can! I don't think it's poisonous, very pretty snake, he went down a hole between the house and the concreate before I could catch him! So what you snake experts say?

    Yep, red rat snake. Some folks have them as pets as generally they are rather laid back and gentle with people. If one's in my yard, I gently pick it up and deposit it in the surrounding wood area.

    Kendive will remember that one day we found one at his property while changing camera storage cards. It was one rather pissed off snake and kept striking at us...we did not pick it up.

    in s. florida, they are called chicken snakes, they vibrate/shake their tail to mimic rattlesnakes, but non venomous, although they will strike and bite.

    rat snakes, corn snakes, all the same, some different colors, but the pattern is similar
