I want a side by side to ride my grandson around the farm in , the problem is I know nothing about them as I’ve never owned one . I’d like to keep it under $10,000 and get a known good brand with long term parts available. I’ve look till I’m throughly confused I’m not opposed to electric buggies as most of my adventures will be less than 10 miles in a day and I like how quite they are. Most , if not all Driving will be on established trails and fire breaks. I’m open to either gas or electric . anyone have a favorite they would recommend?

I had a 2005 model Polaris Ranger 500 for a few years and I really liked it, it would go through heavy mud with no problems, even with the stock tires that came on it. The only thing that I didn't care for was how loud it was, which really wasn't that big of an issue while deer hunting but for turkey hunting I would have preferred the quietness of an electric. Lots of aftermarket parts for Rangers, you can customize them to your hearts content!

You need to look at any and all situations you'll be putting this thing through. Will it be used in a "farm style" capacity hauling heavy loads and towing? Will you be going into any water or creek crossings of any significant depth? Do you prefer speed and comfort or do you like slow and low? Do you think you'll ever need to use 4 wheel drive? Will it be used in hunting applications? If slow and low with farm capabilities the kawasakis are hard to beat. If you want fast and trail blazing then the polaris and can am offer some serious sport machines. You can get an electric cart with very small utility beds and functions for a fraction of the price of these gas machines. I am and always have been a fan of yamaha. It's hard to break them. They're very tough and have a ton of aftermarket support. Try to find the newest yamaha Rhino 700 you can. They're built like tanks as long as they weren't abused. The Rangers are another solid choice just a smidge slower than the yamahas but they have the carrying and load capacity to make up for it.

I have a Honda 1000-5, it is a great machine and will tote 5 people. I don't if you will even find a used one for $10000. Of course, Honda's reliability is legendary.

We have had a Honda Pioneer 700 for 6 years with no issues. it is the 2 seater with a cargo bed. We use it year round on our lease and we have used it in all weather and trail conditions without an issue. Cant comment on the others but no regrets with what we have.

I just bought a Cub Cadet Challenger 400 4x4. It's under your budget new! They had a 0% interest deal a few weeks ago and I jumped on one. Had to drive to Elberta to get it. Had it out doing all kinds of chores in the woods already and wonder why it took me so long to get one!

It's a lesser known brand and the price reflects that.

It's small and fits on more narrow trails like a four wheeler will. Top speed of only 25 MPH. Plenty for riding and working in the woods!

For me I wanted a smaller one to fit narrow trails.

My five year old son asks me just about everyday to go for a ride.

If I had the money right now I'd take a good look at the Polar EV UTV, electric and American made. When I can afford one I'll definitely be getting electric, you see a lot more wildlife driving around with the quietness of electric and if you hunt you disturb a lot less getting out to your hunting spot! A little above your price point but you might be able to find a deal and zero percent financing these days.
