    My BSA rifle

This is the Birmingham Small Arms rife I bought on here a few weeks ago...... its a Hunter Royal Viscount chambered in 7x57 and was made in 1955.... By my guess, it hasn't been shot much at all....... for 58 years old I think she is a beauty and the action feel better than my "A" prefix BDL.... the 180 rounds of ammo was a bonus..... Plan on getting her to the range in a few days..... Any BSA shooters on here I can confer with?

Man that is a nice looking BSA. I don't have one nor have I ever owned one but now I might have to put it on the list. I believe that my rolling block was initially chambered in that cartridge back in 1897. I'm interested in how your BSA performs. Please let us know.

Remington No.5 Rolling Block In 38-50 Remington Hepburn

This is my "new" (to me) 1897 Remington No.5 Rolling Block chambered in in 38-50 Remington Hepburn that was chambered with the use of a Dan Theodore reamer. Brass is formed with 30-40 Krag brass and she fires a 320gr Postell bullet for black powder or a 250 JSP for a smokeless load. The barrel is a 28 5/8" Green Mountain barrel with a 1-14 twist. The receiver sides and face have been trued, new wood, and a case hardening treatment added to the reciever. That's a medium sized chunk of coal at the muzzle and not a rock lol.

    Brasshog,

Great looking gun. I love the old school cool. I steal my dads 45-70 every chance I get. Did you do the work on the rifle?

Thank you. I didn't do any of the work so I can't take any credit in that lol. I bought it from Andre on another forum. He had another one that was a half round and half octagon barrel but I prefer straight octagon. I believe that he may still have it for sale. I like this rifle alot and can't wait to shoot it. I just got a copy of the match reamer prints so I'm dying to load for it. I wanted the prints because this is based on the shortened 2.25 inch case for match shooting ( no lead/freebore ) instead of the longer original brass length.

No point in building them if you can't enjoy them :) my brother waiting on a 500 yard deer with one of my .308's. ResizedImage_1388883863796.jpg

Finally found one of my bucket list guns: Mini 14 ranch rifle 6.8 SPC NIB, well it was until today. I put the accu-strut on it and took it to the range today, shot perfectly!

Had to drive to Birmingham to get this Mini, the gun shop that had it was clearing out its inventory and ran across this one they have had setting for 2 years. I was worth the drive!

    Good work !

Thank you. Just got an choate ultimate sniper stock. Picked it up new from a guy on another forum for 25.00. He squad he didn't like it. I'm gonna take her out this weekend and I'll do a review of it. It's pretty heavy but I think it will help with recoil also. I'll throw some pics of it tonight.
