I sold my rental house in Pace a couple of weeks ago. I had 4 renters in the 10 years I owned it and I think one got their $1,000 deposit back.
I had to replace the carpet the last 2 times because they let their dogs go anywhere they wanted even though the house has a big fenced-in back yard.
I had to patch 50 BB holes in the sheet rock in one kid’s bedroom and replace 2 windows with BB holes in them. The father swore they didn’t own a BB gun.
Renting sounds like a good return on investment until you figure all the expenses, not counting the aggravation.
I think the key is to not try to make it someplace you would want to live.
You’ll go broke doing that.
I’m glad to be done with that house.
I still own a townhouse in Tallahassee but I’ve got a management company that takes care of it so I don’t have to mess with it.
What’s funny is I see people on social media griping about the lack of rentals in the area. Well, in what kind of condition did you leave the last house you rented?
