I chose the Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 that I already had because I also wanted to keep the overall profile smaller to match the gun. 7 power is plenty of mag for a 100 yard shot on a deer sized target. I got mine on Sportsman guide for around $160 and you can use the 4 pay option to pay for it. As Sawman said pick a quality optic that YOU like and don't look back.

Really reccomended. Not only reduces weight but takes out all creep. You do not have to go as low as I did either.
When you loose the E clip,I have more. ---- SAWMAN

I'm using those same Burris rings on mine. I have always liked Burris rings. Nice target too.

Love it. Shoots "garbage" ammo and hits where it's aimed. Shot at 25,50,100 and 200 ( no pix of 200, >coffee can group)
50 yards rounds touch 12x zoom. 100 yards 2-3 inch group. Single Shot was for the bacon, 154gr sp. (@100)Used all steel case ammo. The clear accuracy winner was the Tul. Crazy. The pic with the high left is 5rds @50 IN THE RED 1 INCH SQUARE.
Going to leave the trigger alone, whatever it's set at it can stay.
Slight hitch in the bolt, should work out, need a 20rd mag, less reloading, more blasting. The mini 30 mag is ok now. After some use got it figured out.
Dumped about 200 rds thru it. My shooting is not that impressive, but the rifle sure is.. Might be my new deer gun. If it shoots this good with crap steel case, what could it do with quality ammo???

Looks good, I am still looking for one. Seems to be 6.5 Creedmoor everywhere, no 300 blk or 7.62X39. I will just wait until I can find one at a reasonable price.

If I were less wiggly my shooting would be better too. That Rock & Roll song...."Whole lotta shaking going on", lol
Was shooting from the bench using just 1 poly V block to help keep the rifle still. I use it in my shooting house too. I like em, stackable and work.

Let me tell you a story. In 2004 I started reading on the Internet about the FAL. People talked about how great the FAL was, how they enjoyed shooting it, etc, etc. Before that, the FAL was just some vague rifle to me that I had no interest in. Damn Internet...Well, that got to me, and I ordered one after the AWB ended, getting my DSA FAL with no ban features. Turns out I really enjoyed it, and I still own it. Now, with all of you going on and on about your Ruger American Ranch Rifles in 7.62x39, that got to me also. I've now ordered mine, thanks to all of you. I already reload the 7.62x39, so I'll be set in that regard.

    Thanks Guys!
