putin first tried to kill him by poisoning outside of russia. He recovered and returned to russia on his own. putin imprisoned him 30 miles north of Antarctica were he died at 47 while on a walk. It's possible he never fully recovered from the poisoning and it caught up to him in prison because of the adverse conditions he was subjected to. If he died from the initial poisoning or from conditions in the prison or something else, putin is still responsible.
