.35 Rem might be harder to find than turdy turdy
If you got the reloading dies that should make brass the least likely component. Although the medium calibers seem to have fallen from favor with the exception of the .338 Mag. Like the guy in the questions section asked, " Why would such a fine cartridge be discontinued?" https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1021429551. It's a good thing that the .308 Win & 30-06 share projectiles. Just imagine what the future may bring if NATO makes 6.5 the standard issue caliber? Wonder what happens to the 7mm-08??????????? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/7mm-08_Remington. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/6.5mm_Creedmoor

I have been through the painstaking processes of necking down NATO cases to 6.5 for .260s. Not something I would care to do again.

Early mornin', Irish (actually Kentucky) coffee honesty: The Government has determined that projectiles and brass within the 5.56/.223 and 7.62/.308 range enable weapons of war, and you can't have them, because they have F15s, man. 9mm/.38/380, yeah, you're in there, too.

On top of that, most of our favorite, "2A/liberty-supporting" manufacturers/vendors all have some type of government contract; Money talks. They tell us what we want to hear, and we eat it up.

Then we have to arm/equip ukraine so they can lose a little slower. Eff 'em....

The government is so intent on depriving you of "weapons of war," they are designing/moving toward kinder, gentler, ammo/rifles you will not have access to, if ever. Spoiler. 90% of that is disarmament agenda and has nothing to do with the benefits/effects of the round/weapon. Ask yourself, WTF would a NATO country (US) be so effing stupid as to design/field ammo/weapons that only we could/would support; put all the eggs in one basket?

On the other hand... Over here in the prehistoric world of .45-70 and .44 mag, doin' pretty good. Both are old, outdated, ignored, and useless rounds ;) Even managed to pick up some .45 Colt yesterday. Another outdated, "cowboy round," that's good for nothing but old guys playing around and wishing they coulda been cowboys....

Well, if Just JOE gives Ukraine enough of Our Old M16 & M-4's, and all the Aged 7.62 x 51 chambered firearms, the 6.5 in newly manufactured firearms may get a foothold? Once the US converts NATO will follow, just like they did with the 5.56. But I'm not sure how many munitions We can send Ukraine to support their AK-74's? But there doesn't seem to be any shortage of FMJ 7.62, 5.56, or 9 mm projectiles?

As mentioned in another post, somewhere.... We coulda just staid with .30-06 and/or 7.62, cranking %^&* out by the ton, and still be winning. But, but, but, it's heavy, it's loud, it hurts. See it? The "problem" is not the weapon or the ammo.

Didn't the switch to 5.56 cure all the ails of firearms inexperience and recoil shyness in New Recruits? Not to mention that those 210 5.56 that weigh as much as 100 7.62 rounds, shouldn't that have made for better Soldiers and more accurate marksmen? Yet somehow the Services needed to bring back those Ancient 7.62 rifles and Designate Marksmen. Guess a .22 caliber rifle couldn't cure everything on the Battlefield? But perhaps the 6.5 with it's longer range and milder recoil than 7.62 can? But, but, it's still heavier, louder, and recoils more than the 5.56, so the problem may continue? But removing all those 7.62 Dinosaurs from inventory should help the civilian disarmament movement. Unless the 6.5 takes over the role of America's favorite that .30 caliber rounds have had since WWI?

Military Changes calibers and that will eliminate surplus hitting the market though less and less surplus each year.
I'm not sure about that? .223 Remington was once a dog on the market, nowadays .223/5.56 it is a top seller and surplus 1000 round cases are almost everywhere. The same boom could happen if the Military moves to 6.5? But that could seriously effect 30-06, .308 Win, and it may almost kill 08 based cartridges. After all the .308 Win hurt 30-06 sales (even if they used the same projectiles) which also effected 06 based cartridges. When that surplus ammo & surplus brass dry up, so do the cartridges based off the cheap components. JMHO. So is now the time to stack .30 caliber to the ceiling, since SOCOM has purchased 6.5 SAW's & Sniper Support Weapons? Is the handwriting on the wall, or will this to fall on its face like the 338 Lapua? Food for thought?

Seems it's getting hard to find hunting projectiles nowadays. Even Nosler is out of stock on .308 180 Partition Spire Points. Even at over $ 80 for a 50 round count. Guess I should have stocked heavier years back?
Where are you located? RU looking locally? I found SCADS of .308's online in stock reasonably priced.
